Directorate of Rice Research (DRR), Hyderabad has come out with a publication analyzing  the productivity of rice in different rice growing regions of the country presenting the grass root level information going right up to the district level followed by state and country as a whole. In addition to general information on rice scenario, production and post production aspects, nutritional facts and exports have also been dealt. Brief, yet comprehensive state wise information on rice in 35 states and union territories, trends in rice area and production, compound growth rates (CGRs), ecosystem diversity, varietal development efforts, major constraints both biotic and abiotic have been outlined. The data on area, production and productivity for the states is largely confined up to 2006·07. For each state the GIS maps are provided for easy comprehension.

Rice Almanac - India will serve as useful guide, handy reference material and a rich source of information to the researchers, policy makers, administrators, students and all who are committed for the sustainable improvement of rice production, processing and exports as well.
